Welcome to Oakmont School
Thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to learn about our school in Cardiff Bay.

Oakmont School exists for young people who have found that mainstream education can not meet their needs - not because they are unable to learn - but because the system was not designed for them. Our role is to provide a safe, calm and nurturing environment where pupils can heal, grow and rediscover confidence in themselves and in learning.
With nearly two decades of experience in specialist education across Wales, my approach is rooted in empathy, high expectations and unconditional positive regard. We believe that when children feel safe, understood and valued, real change becomes possible.

Our classes are small, with no more than six pupils supported by a teacher and two learning support assistants. This allows us to provide the consistency, structure and individual attention our pupils need.
We follow the Curriculum for Wales, enriched with therapeutic and developmental activities that support the whole child - academically, socially and emotionally. Every pupil is treated as an individual, with personalised planning and strong partnerships with families and professionals.

Although based in Cardiff, we support pupils from a range of local authorities and welcome admissions throughout the academic year.

At Oakmont School, we believe education should do more than deliver qualifications. It should build confidence, resilience, relationships and hope for the future. My aim is to ensure Oakmont School is a place where every young person feels safe, supported and able to succeed.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our community.
